Campaign for Real Chips A SOAP icon paid Southport a visit to endorse a local campaign for real chips. Liz Dawn, who brought her 33-year stint as Coronation Street’s Vera Duckworth to an end this year, enjoyed a pub lunch at The Falstaff in King Street to back owner Adrian Davies, who launched the campaign. The Falstaff's campaign is based on Gordon Ramsay’s Campaign for Real Gravy. We want to convince people that real chips are much tastier than their widely available rival, frozen chips.
The Campaign for Real Chips March, on Saturday the 17th May 2008 at 2.00pm. Adrian and the Falstaff team are inviting the Falstaffs regular customers along with local Southport people to join the "Campaign for Real Chips". The March will be from Southport Town Hall back to The Falstaff Pub, for a free sampling of "Real Home Cooked Chips" prepared to the highest standards on the premises. These are the finishing touches to Adrians long ambition to create traditional pub food
